(tech explains some stuff) ---------- Yes, it is indeed easy to change ones reply to address. But the true = origin may be seen if your mailer allows a detailed veiw of the "header" = . It may not reveal the actual address, but it will reveal the server = of origin and a number, a number the internet provider can use to look = up the identity. The only "safe" way of using this technique to change = ones address is to subscribe others to email lists. This is because as = soon as the subscription takes place the original email message is = destroyed in most systems. This saves the server a tremendous amount of = drive space. Since it is destroyed, and only a record of the = subscription exists, they can only see that someone subscribed to the = list. They assume that the reply to is the true address. =20 Look at the header. See if you can see the server of origin. Contact = someone like webmaster@ helpdesk@ , etc to get to someone in the = internet access provider company. Send copy of message. Tell them that = death threats are a serious matter. Tell them you request their = cooperation in the identification of the sender. Then with the info, = contact the authorities. They do it to us. Turn the same laws against = these liberal zealots that they use to silence the movement. =20 Jeff=20 From: AryanGar@aol.com Date: Fri, 5 Jan 1996 01:58:41 -0500 Subject: Re: IS THIS A DEATH THREAT? We were checking things out when she saw this note. She asked me to repond so = here it is. =20 This is done by using a browser (most likely Netscape 2.0) where you can assign the post office & mail server as well as the addresses. So in = effect what he has done is send a message from you to you. This is very simple = to do & is done all the time by our government to conceal the true identity = of the original sender. Tracking this message would be very difficult if = not impossible unless by some lucky chance you knew what server or gateway = it came from then getting the logs. =20 Stay true to the Fire With-in!!!!!!! (IM BACK........) =20 AryanGar & Denys the tech :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To: Multiple recipients of the Stormfront Mailing List Host: don.black@stormfront.org (Don Black) To unsubscribe, send e-mail to 'listserv@stormfront.org' with the line 'unsubscribe Stormfront-L' in the message BODY. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- Processed with Listserv v2.77 for Wildcat v4 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To: Multiple recipients of the Stormfront Mailing List Host: don.black@stormfront.org (Don Black) To unsubscribe, send e-mail to 'listserv@stormfront.org' with the line 'unsubscribe Stormfront-L' in the message BODY. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- Processed with Listserv v2.77 for Wildcat v4
